Yesterday was the first day of our city's staggered work hours implementation. The traffic management department of Beijing Municipality stated that both yesterday's morning and evening rush hour peak periods were extended by half an hour, but the average speed on the main roads during the morning rush hour increased by 1% compared to the previous day.

Deputy Director Zhang Chenjun of the Municipal Traffic Management Bureau Command Center introduced that the morning rush hour yesterday was extended from the usual 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM, with the peak traffic flow time being delayed by half an hour. Similarly, the evening rush hour yesterday was also extended by half an hour, and it wasn't until around 7:30 PM that the urban road conditions basically returned to normal. This means that not only was the peak of yesterday's morning and evening rush hours delayed, but the entire period of peak traffic flow and congestion was also extended.
