Netizens April Fool's Day prank news: Bush arrested in Canada
A website's "April Fools' Day Crazy News Contest" in April 2009 invited netizens to write all sorts of "false" news articles. One netizen fabricated the following "very real" news article. The article claimed that on the first day of his visit to Canada, former US President Bush was arrested by Canadian police on charges of war crimes. The reason was that Bush partially participated in torturing prisoners at the US military's Guantanamo Bay Naval Base and Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison. According to Canadian law, even a non-Canadian citizen may be charged for crimes committed outside of Canada.
