Reuters published an article on September 9 with the title "Is China's Military Strong or a Paper Tiger", which talked at length about the military strength comparison between China and the US. The article claimed that although China's military strength is constantly rising, there is still a long way to go before it can rival the US. On September 9, Meng Xiangqing, a scholar from the National Defense University of China, told the Global Times in an interview that the West has always had two extreme views on China's military strength: one is that China's military strength is getting stronger and stronger, even to the point of exaggeration, and the other is that China's military strength is worthless. Obviously, neither of these statements conforms to the objective situation of China's military strength.
