At the ongoing National People's Congress, the issue of elder care has become a hot topic, with many representatives and committee members making proposals regarding elder care. Yesterday, Wang Zhenyao, Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Charity under the Ministry of Civil Affairs, stated that this year the Ministry will unify the old-age allowance system for the elderly aged 80 and above across the country. Meanwhile, the Ministry is also working on relevant plans to popularize day care centers for the elderly in communities nationwide, as well as to carry out training programs for professional caregivers.
The high-age allowance system is expected to be unified nationwide.
