Big red lanterns were hung, cheerful drums were beaten, and fiery Yangge dances were performed. On February 28, the people of all ethnic groups in Xing'an League, a revolutionary old area in Inner Mongolia, celebrated the Lantern Festival in various ways.

On the morning of the 28th, the municipal square of Ulanhot City in Xing'an League was crowded with people. A grand Northeast Yangge performance made a reappearance amid cheerful and festive drumbeats. Nearly a thousand people from eight street communities of the city dressed in colorful costumes, waving colorful silk and fans, participated in the Yangge performance to celebrate the Lantern Festival, turning Ulanhot, the red city where the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Government was born, into an ocean of joy. Performances such as "Journey to the West" and "Fairies Scatter Flowers" were vividly presented. Auspicious little tigers and "husband and wife driving donkeys" expressed the blessings of the Red City residents for a better life. The shapes of soaring dragons, leaping lions, and old men pushing carts full of harvest appeared one after another, indicating that today's revolutionary old areas are renewed, and all undertakings are developing rapidly and well.

It is reported that on this day, the people in various places of Xing'an League celebrated the Lantern Festival in different ways. On the evening of the 28th, at the Xing'an Hall in Ulanhot, the Xing'an League Song and Dance Troupe will present a Lantern Festival evening party with strong ethnic and local characteristics for the people in the old area. Zhalantun Banner,科尔沁 Right Front Banner, Ulanhot and other places will also deliver a series of exquisite festival feasts to the masses in the form of fireworks evenings and lantern fairs.

An old comrade watching the Yangge performance in Ulanhot City said: "Nowadays, life has improved, the environment has been enhanced, community activities have increased, and our days are getting better and better, just like the Lantern Festival lanterns, becoming more and more prosperous."
