Male infertility is a sign of serious illness!

In medicine, male infertility is generally regarded as a kind of disease. In fact, modern medical research shows: it's better to regard it as a signal of certain diseases rather than just a common male disease. Because clinically, for most infertile men, once the fundamental disease is cured, this symptom of infertility will also disappear. So, what diseases can be found from the sign of male infertility?

1. Undescended testis

Medically, any abnormal position of the testicles or failure to descend into the scrotum is called undescended testis. Statistics show that about 10% of newborns and 2% of toddlers are found to have abnormal testicle positions. It was previously believed that only bilateral undescended testis would affect fertility, but recent studies have found that the infertility rate of unilateral undescended testis accounts for more than 67%. Although theoretically, one testicle should be able to compensate for the function of two, in reality, unilateral undescended testis is adversely affected by temperature, thereby generating some antibodies against sperm, which makes the normal testicle on the other side lose its ability to produce sperm. This type of infertility, known as "blood-testis barrier", also has a higher chance of developing testicular tumors compared to normal men. And due to misconceptions rooted in traditional ideas, it still hasn't received enough attention. Most cases are only discovered after marriage when trying to conceive, at which point treatment often isn't as effective as it would be during childhood.
