After the invasion of drugs in Hong Kong campus, another student crisis appeared. It was known that someone initiated an "I want to practice suicide" group on the social networking site Facebook. A student who had attempted suicide before turned out to be a member of the suicide group, which shocked the police and school authorities and they quickly intervened in the investigation.

A social worker found that the student who had attempted suicide lived in Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long. The group had recently arranged for all members to commit collective suicide on the 21st day of next month. After discovering this, the social worker immediately reported it to the police.

The Technology Crime Division of the Commercial Crime Investigation Department of the Police is following up on the case, but admitted that it is difficult to solve. Security Bureau Deputy Secretary Lau Chun-kwok appealed to young people with suicidal tendencies to seek professional counseling. Co-Vice Chairman of the Legislative Council Security Affairs Committee, Tu Kam-shan, believed that the incident was very serious.

Yuen Long District Commander Li Jianhui said after a meeting with middle school principals in the district that the members involved in this group are not necessarily limited to the Yuen Long area, and even people overseas may participate. He urged schools and parents to pay more attention to teenagers' online behavior and promote positive messages about life.

Li Jianhui emphasized that according to Hong Kong law, anyone who incites or induces others to commit suicide, if convicted, could face a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison.
