As of the day before yesterday, torrential rain and flood disasters occurred in 24 provinces, cities, autonomous regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps across the country, affecting 82.05 million people, resulting in 403 deaths, 105 missing persons, 5.5 million hectares of crops affected, and direct economic losses amounting to 31.9 billion yuan.

The report said that from the 11th, some parts of Chongqing experienced widespread heavy rains, with a maximum rainfall of 170 mm. The heavy rain triggered a landslide, causing the interruption of National Highway 319.

It is reported that Hunan and Guizhou also experienced heavy rains with rainfall exceeding 60 mm. In addition, continuous heavy rains for several days caused extremely heavy rainstorms and floods in the northeastern and southern regions of Sichuan Province, resulting in 42 deaths and 25 missing persons so far. According to statistics from local civil affairs departments, 12 million people were affected.
