"I like the carefree life of a nightclub lead dancer, without much pressure. But I also know that this youth-dependent job doesn't have much future. I promised my boyfriend that I would stop dancing after we get married." When talking about her career as a lead dancer, Liling seemed quite satisfied with her current state of life.
Being a nightclub lead dancer may sound simple, but in reality, it's not an easy job: being a lead dancer is very physically demanding, but the girls can't have a full dinner for the performance; they must be on duty before 8 o'clock every night, finish their makeup, and change into their costumes. More than 10 people are divided into two groups, and from the moment the guests arrive, one group of dancers take turns to perform every 7 or 8 minutes without any interruption. After a set of dances, each dancer returns to the rest room drenched in sweat, and this cycle repeats until the last guest leaves in the early hours of the next morning.
