Zhong Jiao is a coral reef located in the western part of the Nansha Islands, and it is one of the four dry reefs of the Yin Qing Reef group. Chinese fishermen traditionally refer to it as "Nong Bi Zi." In 1935, the official name released was Central Reef. In 1947 and 1983, the official name was announced as Zhong Jiao. Some foreign language publications refer to it as Central Reef, while its Vietnamese name is Dao Truong Sa Dong (written in English letters due to Vietnamese display issues), which means East Changsha Island.
