Yesterday, I took the K333 train from Yingtan in Jiangxi to Yichun. I bought a standing ticket. When I got on the train, each carriage was already packed with people. With my large suitcase, I couldn't squeeze into any of them, so I decided to go to Carriage No. 8 to upgrade to a sleeper berth. However, this experience of buying a supplementary ticket left a deep impression on me, and I would like to share it with everyone.
I consulted a conductor, who was very friendly. She said she could help me get a supplementary ticket if I gave her 100 yuan, refunding any excess or charging extra if needed. In no time, she handed me the supplementary ticket along with the change. At that moment, I felt deeply grateful, thinking how the quality of service had improved as national civility advanced.
Before I could thank her, she informed me that the supplementary sleeper berth cost 51 yuan, and two boxes of milk were 20 yuan. But I never asked for the milk! She explained that purchasing a sleeper berth required buying the milk; otherwise, there would be no sleeper berth available. Then she insincerely added, "Since I helped you with the ticket, you should help me too. We need to meet our targets!" I was completely stunned...
Holding the two boxes of milk, I entered the sleeper carriage. To my surprise, five others had experienced the same situation. They were all furious. The cost price of these two unknown brands of milk was probably just six or seven yuan, yet they were sold to passengers for twenty yuan, and under duress. This is a clear case of forced sales and fraud. Moreover, this behavior isn't limited to one particular conductor or even a single train's staff—it exists on some trains, forming an unwritten rule. The train staff collude with each other; if you don't buy the milk, you won't get a sleeper berth, or they'll tell you there are none available.
I believe that any person with a conscience cannot tolerate such an ugly phenomenon. It goes against the current advocacy for building a harmonious and civilized society. Therefore, I strongly appeal—if you've had similar experiences or know about such situations, please share your thoughts! I also hope that journalists with a sense of social responsibility can investigate and report on this issue. Thank you!!!
