By the end of June, the city’s financial institutions had a total of 149.411 billion yuan in domestic and foreign currency deposits, an increase of 24.853 billion yuan since the beginning of the year and a year-on-year increase of 6.918 billion yuan, according to the People’s Bank of China, Kunshan Branch. The loan balance exceeded the 100 billion yuan mark for the first time, reaching 104.673 billion yuan, an increase of 17.783 billion yuan since the beginning of the year and a year-on-year increase of 8.977 billion yuan. The new record highs were set for deposit and loan growth. The city ranked first among the five counties (cities) of Suzhou in terms of loan balance.
