Two people were killed and nine injured in the incident, one of the deceased being the hotel owner.
After the incident, local leaders organized relevant departments to rush to the scene for rescue. Currently, the police have preliminarily ruled out an explosion caused by nitramine items and basically excluded an explosion caused by pipeline natural gas leakage. The exact cause is still under further investigation.

"The explosive power was too big, it actually damaged a four-story building." Yesterday morning, at the intersection of 204 National Road and Xinhua West Road in Taicang urban area, many citizens were amazed at a four-story storefront building in front of the Junyue Haoting residential area.
The building backed onto the residential area, located between the 6th and 7th small high-rise residential buildings of Junyue Haoting. The storefront facing the 204 National Road was cordoned off by the police. Through the gaps in the barriers, I saw that the area inside the barriers was in a mess, full of doors, windows, and bricks blown up by the explosion. Five cars were damaged to varying degrees, one black car near the store door was deformed in the rubble. There were 12 rooms on the first floor and second floor respectively, and 7 rooms on the third and fourth floors each. The Junyue Hotel on the first floor was particularly severely damaged, almost all the doors fell off, some walls cracked and deformed. The windows and outdoor air conditioners of Macao Hot Pot from the second to the fourth floor were incomplete, some windows twisted and hanging precariously.
