"Wu Zhijian, China's Ninth Richest Tycoon"
Wu Zhijian, once a prominent figure in the business world, formerly the richest man in Hunan, and ranked ninth among China's wealthiest individuals by Forbes, found himself back in the dock on February 26. This was merely six years after he had been sentenced to 17 years in prison previously. During these six short years, while on medical parole, he spent two years in Shenzhen engaging in "fraudulent schemes."
The reason for his return to the defendant's seat this time is due to allegations of illegal business activities through the establishment of "China Shenzhou" (full name: "China Shenzhou United Telecommunications Co., Ltd."). The company is accused of issuing so-called internal original stocks, involving over 625 million RMB. Among the victims is Hong Kong artist Felix Wong Bak-cheung.
