Everyone knows that dye inks are more susceptible to fading caused by ultraviolet (UV) light and ozone. Since UV and ozone are omnipresent, many printed documents using dye inks are affected and fade over time. Additionally, other pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides, moisture, smoke, sweat, and other contaminants can also easily cause the prints to fade. We conduct some simple tests to explore the effects of UV and ozone on ink fading.
**Testing Methods:**
- **Ozone Test:** The testing environment should be in complete darkness with a humidity level of 30%-40% and a temperature of 20-22 degrees Celsius.
- **UV Test:** The majority of UV light comes from fluorescent lamps. We select fluorescent lamps that can provide up to 150,000 lux for 24 hours. The testing temperature is set at 70 degrees Celsius to accelerate the process.
