Since Champollion deciphered the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, the secrets within the pyramids, the tombs of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs, have become yet another mystery of ancient Egypt waiting to be uncovered. Starting from the late 19th century, a large number of Western archaeologists successively arrived in Egypt, hoping to unravel the secrets of the pyramids. However, after decades passed, people still came away empty-handed.

So, who was the first person to open the tomb of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh and reveal the secrets beneath the pyramids to the world?

On the afternoon of November 26, 1922, in a steep underground passage at the base of a pyramid in Egypt's "Valley of the Kings," stood two solemn-faced men. They were the British archaeologist Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon. To find this tomb, Howard Carter had devoted decades of his life. Lord Carnarvon, on the other hand, invested a great deal of money over the subsequent eight years to support Carter in uncovering the secrets of the Egyptian king's tomb.
