The Origin of the Name "Dibao Network"
The term "Dibao" does not appear in the Modern Chinese Dictionary, only the word "Dibao" (pronounced the same but written differently), which refers to officials who worked for the government at the local level during the Qing Dynasty and the early years of the Republic of China, equivalent to today's "village chief." People who held the position of "Dibao" were very familiar with the local situation. After liberation, the term "Dibao" began to spread among the people of Nanchang, and anyone who was very knowledgeable about the local situation was habitually called "Dibao," a practice that continues to this day. Jiangxi Province has long been praised as a place where "natural treasures abound, and outstanding people emerge from a land of spiritual beauty." Taking the characters "Di" (land) and "Bao" (treasure) from this phrase, combining ancient and modern meanings, and to fully embody the characteristics of Nanchang, we named our website that serves the people of Nanchang "Dibao Network," meaning that "Dibao Network" encompasses all kinds of local life information in Nanchang. This is how the name "Dibao Network" came about.
To protect intellectual property rights and preserve the folk culture of Nanchang, we formally applied for the trademark registration of "Dibao Network" with the National Trademark Office in 2006.
