Barack Hussein Obama II (born August 4, 1961) was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. He is a junior federal senator representing Illinois (his grandfather and father's names were both Obama). According to the records of the US Senate Historical Office, Obama is the fifth African American Senator in history and currently the only African American in the Senate. As of 11:00 PM Eastern Time on November 4, 2008, the vote count shows that Obama has been elected as the 44th President of the United States.

In November 2004, he was elected as a U.S. Senator with 70% of the votes.
