Recently, the Chengdu "Campus Spring" residential area "Leaning Tower" incident, which has received much attention from netizens, has finally been resolved.

The incident originated from a heavy rainstorm in mid-July. After the heavy rainstorm, two buildings, No. 6 and No. 7 of the "Campus Spring" residential area, which were originally very close to each other, tilted and leaned against each other at a 20-degree angle. The leaning not only caused adjacent windows to be unable to open but also resulted in cracks on the walls and deformation of doors in some homeowners' houses.

After the "Leaning Tower" incident, the homeowners of "Campus Spring" met with representatives of "Dexinyuan". "Dexinyuan" agreed to conduct safety appraisals for buildings No. 6, No. 7, and No. 8 of "Campus Spring" and recommended an appraisal agency. On July 30th, the appraisal report came out, stating that these three buildings were safe. It pointed out that the main reason for the issues was the lack of standard drainage ditches around the buildings, combined with surface water accumulation during the heavy rainstorm, which caused the softening of the foundation soil and led to slight settlement of the building foundations. In other words, the appraisal report believed that the tilting of the buildings was mainly due to "Campus Spring's" own reasons.

Yesterday, Qu Jingde, the former "assistant town mayor" of Meilong Town, Minhang District, and the mastermind behind the real estate project involved in the Shanghai collapsed building incident, was legally arrested on suspicion of embezzlement.
