A young man from Nanjing, China was arrested for stealing more than 800 books from a bookstore in town, mainly in the categories of social sciences, history and poetry art. The young man surnamed Li admitted after his arrest that he had been stealing books from the bookstore since February this year, stealing more than 800 books in half a year, committing the crime three to four times a week on average. After stealing the books and reading them, he sold them and used the money, no matter how much or little, for daily expenses.
The young man said that he stole books in order to find some kind of meaning in his own existence. However, this book thief absorbed more literary knowledge than full-time college students receiving higher education, but he still didn't understand why we exist in the world. He confessed without hesitation, saying: "I just don't understand the meaning of life and the true essence of life. I hope I can find answers in books."
