Spring is a season when all things come back to life. It is also a season when gynecological diseases are prone to occur among female friends. So, how can we prevent them in advance? Below, we will invite Director Luo Chunmei, an expert from the Xi'an Gynecology Hospital, to explain some health care knowledge to everyone, hoping it will be helpful to you.

Vaginitis is the general term for various inflammatory diseases of the vaginal mucosa caused by different causes. In healthy women, the vagina has a natural defense function against the invasion of pathogens due to the characteristics of its anatomical structure, so inflammation will not occur. However, when the natural defense function of the vagina is damaged, pathogens are easily invaded, thus causing vaginitis. Symptoms often include special itching, increased leucorrhea, unpleasant odor, burning pain and other discomforts.

There are many pathogens that cause vaginitis, including bacteria, viruses, protozoa, candida, chlamydia, mycoplasma, fungi, etc. The most common vaginal infections in clinical practice are bacterial vaginosis caused by various bacteria, as well as infections caused by trichomonas and candida albicans, fungi, etc.

Some female patients with vaginitis feel good after taking medicine for a period of time, so they do not continue to take medicine according to the doctor's advice, nor do they go to the hospital for re-examination, which leads to the fact that vaginitis is not completely cured, and soon recurs, repeated again and again, making it easy to develop drug resistance.

Cervicitis increases the incidence of cervical cancer

The cervix is an important line of defense against the entry of pathogenic microorganisms into the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. There are two types of cervicitis: acute and chronic, with chronic cervicitis being more common, often manifested as cervical erosion. The symptoms of cervicitis are not obvious and are easy to be ignored and develop into cervical erosion. Erosion is divided into mild, moderate, and severe. After erosion occurs, there is often an increase in leucorrhea, sticky, occasionally purulent, bloody leucorrhea, accompanied by lower back pain, abdominal pain, and a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, which worsens after menstruation, defecation or sexual intercourse, some also manifest as menstrual disorders, dysmenorrhea, and infertility, etc. Women with cervical erosion have a seven times higher chance of developing cervical cancer than healthy people.

Neglecting pelvic inflammatory treatment can easily lead to infertility

After suffering from pelvic inflammatory disease, systemic symptoms are not obvious, sometimes with low fever, listlessness, general discomfort, insomnia, heaviness and pain in the lower abdomen, soreness in the waist and sacrum, irregular menstruation, etc. If not treated in time, it will often turn from acute pelvic inflammatory disease to chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, leading to infertility.

Nosebleeds, hoarse voice, mouth ulcers, constipation... It is currently spring, windy and dry, leading to many people experiencing "heatiness". In this regard, TCM professionals remind: In spring, the internal heat of the human body is relatively strong. If one does not pay attention to light diet and regular living habits, it is extremely easy to "attract fire".

Do you understand what "heatiness" really is? How should we deal with "heatiness"?

Why is the fire big in spring?

Firstly, according to traditional Chinese medicine, in spring, nature revives, yang energy rises, easily disturbing the accumulated internal heat in the liver, gallbladder, and gastrointestinal tract of the human body, resulting in spring dryness; plus, the climate feature in most areas of northern China at this time is dry and windy, often making people generally feel uncomfortable.

Secondly, in spring, there is more wind and less rain, and the climate is dry. The water in the human body is easily lost through sweating and breathing, and the weather changes repeatedly, making it difficult to maintain the balance and stability of human metabolism, which easily leads to physiological dysfunction and results in "heatiness" symptoms such as dry throat pain, red eyes, dryness, hot nose, cracked lips, oral ulcers, poor appetite, hard stool, yellow urine, etc.
