Spring has come, and when the season changes, people usually store away their winter clothes and clean up a bit. The computer keyboard often becomes, without us realizing it, a hub of dirt around us; some people have never even thought about cleaning the keyboard. A study published in the American journal *Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology* found that computer keyboards are one of the easiest places to harbor dirt and grime; even keyboards in hospital computers contain large amounts of bacteria.
Dr. William Rutala from the University of North Carolina pointed out that common bacteria found on computer keyboards include streptococcus, pseudomonas aeruginosa, and chlamydia trachomatis, etc. If not cleaned in time, these can lead to gastrointestinal diseases, skin conditions, eye infections, and skin allergies. A survey once found that the amount of debris inside office computer keyboards increases at an average rate of 2 grams per month.
