Narrative therapy is a postmodern psychological treatment method. Through storytelling, externalization of problems, and the transition from thin to thick in forming a positive and powerful self-concept, it allows individuals to redefine the meaning of life and achieve psychological growth. It also enables therapists to reorganize and reflect on their own roles. The founders of narrative therapy are Australian clinical psychologist Michael White and New Zealander David Epston. Their book *Stories, Knowledge, Power: The Theory and Practice of Narrative Therapy* was introduced to North America in 1990. Xi, who is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Iowa State University, came into contact with this therapy in 1991 and 1992 and found it very unique, saying, "At the time, I felt it helped people through some very different kinds of questioning."
