1. Gastrointestinal symptoms: Intermittent dull abdominal pain, bloating, abdominal pain, and diarrhea are the main manifestations of this disease. Symptoms are particularly noticeable when exposed to cold, consuming greasy food, experiencing emotional fluctuations, or after physical exertion. Bowel movements increase, occurring several times a day or even more than ten times. There may be a sensation of rectal prolapse and incomplete evacuation. During acute flare-ups of chronic enteritis, high fever, abdominal cramping, nausea, vomiting, urgent watery stools, or stools with mucus and blood may occur.

2. Systemic symptoms: Chronic wasting symptoms are present, such as pallor, lethargy, shortness of breath, laziness in speech, weakness in the limbs, preference for warmth, and aversion to cold. During the acute inflammatory phase, in addition to fever, dehydration, acidosis, or shock and bleeding may also occur.

3. Physical signs: Long-term abdominal discomfort or mild lower abdominal pain may be observed. On examination, mild tenderness, hyperactive bowel sounds, and anal prolapse may be found, mainly around the abdomen, umbilical region, or lower abdomen. This condition can result from prolonged or recurrent episodes of acute enteritis, usually lasting over two months. Long-term excessive fatigue, emotional agitation, excessive mental stress, and malnutrition can all be contributing factors to chronic enteritis. It may also be secondary to conditions like chewing disorders, lack of gastric acid, post-gastrectomy syndrome, intestinal parasitic diseases, etc.
