Breast problems at the age of 30 are more likely to be benign (non-cancerous). However, young women commonly experience fibrocystic breast changes, which are characterized by breast pain, cysts, and non-cancerous lumps. Dr. Leon Donney, clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Arizona Center for Health Sciences, said, "Breast pain can be cyclical, occurring with the menstrual cycle, or it can be a persistent pain."
