The soft venous mass formed by the dilation and flexion of the venous plexus in the submucosa at the end of the human rectum and under the skin of the anal canal is called hemorrhoids, also known as piles, hemorrhoidal nucleus, hemorrhoidal disease, hemorrhoidal illness, etc. The hemorrhoids referred to in medicine include internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids, and mixed hemorrhoids. It is a chronic disease caused by the varicosity of the venous plexus at the bottom of the anus and rectum, forming one or more soft venous masses.
Below are six exercise methods introduced:
1. Pelvic floor exercises: Relax your whole body, tighten your buttocks and thighs, inhale while licking the upper palate with your tongue, and simultaneously lift the anus upward like holding back stool. Hold your breath for a moment after lifting the anus, then exhale and relax your whole body. Do this exercise twice daily, morning and evening, each time doing about ten repetitions.
2. Pelvic lifting exercise: Lie on your back with bent knees, bringing your heels close to your buttocks, place your hands under your head, and use your feet and shoulders as pivot points to lift your pelvis while simultaneously tightening your anal sphincter. When relaxing, lower your pelvis. After becoming proficient, you can also coordinate with breathing, inhaling when tightening the anal sphincter and exhaling when relaxing. This method can be practiced 1-3 times daily, each time doing 20 repetitions.
3. Abdominal rotation exercise: Lie on your back with your legs naturally extended, using the Qihai point (one inch below the navel) as the center, make circular motions with your palm; rotate counterclockwise 20-30 times, then clockwise 20-30 times, starting with counterclockwise and then switching to clockwise.
4. Crossed sitting exercise: Sit on the edge of the bed or chair with your legs crossed, relax your whole body; keep your legs crossed while standing, simultaneously tightening your buttocks and thighs, and lifting your anus; when sitting back down, relax your whole body. Repeat continuously 10-30 times.
5. Forward bending exercise: Stand with your legs apart, loosely grip your palms, raise them from the front of your chest to the level of your breasts, while simultaneously tilting your head back and expanding your chest while inhaling; after fully inhaling, bend forward like bowing, while transforming your fists into palms along the sides of your armpits and pushing them downward behind your body while making a deep inhalation according to the momentum. Continuously perform this 5-6 times.
6. Center-lifting exercise: Stand with your legs together, raise your arms sideways above your head, simultaneously lifting your heels while taking a deep inhalation; let your arms fall naturally in front of your body, while simultaneously lowering your heels and firmly planting them while making a deep exhalation. This posture can be continuously performed 5-6 times.
When hemorrhoids occur, seek medical treatment promptly; do not use medications indiscriminately, nor easily believe certain folk remedies. To treat hemorrhoids, it is necessary to first clarify their classification and stage. If the hemorrhoids occur above the dentate line of the anus, they are called internal hemorrhoids; if below, they are external hemorrhoids; if both above and below, they are mixed hemorrhoids. Internal hemorrhoids generally do not hurt because the space is large, making it less likely to be compressed. However, this is not absolute; if a blood clot forms, it will still cause pain. Due to the thin mucosa in the affected area, typical symptoms such as bleeding and prolapse may occur. The typical symptoms of external hemorrhoids are itching, burning sensation, and dirt around the anus. Because of the stagnation of venous blood flow, blood clots can form, leading to common pain.
Reminder: For hemorrhoids, the key is prevention. Even patients who have already suffered from hemorrhoids should not assume everything is fine after surgery; attention should still be paid to preventing the recurrence of hemorrhoids.
