Prostatitis is one of the most common diseases among middle-aged men, with an onset age ranging from 15 to 55 years old. It can be divided into: acute prostatitis and chronic prostatitis. How can we strengthen the protective measures for the prostate? Here are a few points I would like to introduce:

1. Regular screening at the hospital: The American Urological Association and the American Cancer Society recommend that men over the age of 50 should have an annual digital rectal exam and prostate-specific antigen test at a professional men's health hospital. If you have a family history of prostate cancer, you should start these tests at the age of 40.

2. Consume more soy products: Japanese men die from prostate cancer at a rate five times lower than American men. This is generally attributed to their diet, which consists mostly of low-fat, high-fiber foods. Soy products are very common in Japanese cuisine, such as tofu, soybean powder, and soy milk, all of which are effective in curbing prostate cancer.

3. Eat more tomatoes: In a study conducted by Harvard Medical School involving 470,000 men, researchers found that those who consumed the most cooked tomato products had the lowest incidence of prostate cancer. By "most," it means ten servings per week. That may sound like a lot, but half a cup of tomato sauce counts as one serving.

4. Be cautious about hormone supplements: Many health products promote testosterone therapy as a way to improve quality of life. However, what is rarely mentioned is that high doses of testosterone are often associated with prostate enlargement and tumors. If you are already experiencing prostate problems, please stay away from these hormone supplements.
