Before and after the Spring Festival, relatives and friends begin to arrange rounds of dinners, usually choosing evening as the time. In fact, gatherings should be scheduled at noon if possible. This is because even if you eat a little more than usual during the gathering, it won't cause much harm after an afternoon of consumption.
It's best to remind your friends that meals should ideally be held at noon.
If you must gather in the evening, try to schedule the meal earlier, preferably around 5 or 6 p.m., and try to end within two hours. After the meal, you can drink some yogurt or do some light exercises appropriately, and don't go to sleep within two hours after the meal.
You should choose light, water-rich, and easily digestible foods to avoid overloading the gastrointestinal tract at night. First, ensure a balance between meat and vegetables. The amount of meat should not exceed half a portion per person, and the amount of vegetables should be no less than one portion per person. If you feel it's not lavish enough, you can add some semi-meat dishes, but pure vegetable dishes are best to account for at least one-third. You can order a plate of green vegetables, red vegetables, edible fungi, and also add some root vegetables and tofu products.
For meat dishes, it is recommended to choose seafood such as fish and shrimp, or white meat with relatively low fat content. Moreover, although beef is red meat, its fat content is lower compared to pork, so it can be chosen. At the table, remind yourself to take only one bite of each meat dish, and never more than three bites. On average, there should be one dish per person. If there are about four people, it is suggested to order one cold dish and three hot dishes; if there are about ten people, it is suggested to order 3-4 cold dishes and 6-7 hot dishes.
Before the meal, you might want to have a small bowl of rice or a small bowl of porridge. This way, you can reduce protein waste and alleviate stomach problems caused by greasy food. Don't replace rice with main courses high in oil such as fried rice, pancakes, or fried snacks. Wine should ideally be red wine, but remember to limit the quantity.
