Yesterday, I summarized for everyone the dietary therapy methods for hypertension. Don't think it's irrelevant to you. Hypertension is already a common disease; you just haven't noticed it yet. Today, I will summarize some dietary taboos for everyone.

1. **High Cholesterol Foods**: Such as egg yolks, animal offal, fish roe, shrimp, crab roe, cuttlefish, and beef marrow.

These are high-fat, high-cholesterol foods. People with cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and arteriosclerosis should avoid eating too much of these foods.

2. **Gan Wen Bu Xu (Warm-Nourishing Tonics)**: These are also high-fat, high-cholesterol foods. People with cardiovascular diseases should avoid excessive consumption.

3. **Overeating Fatty Meat**: Such as fatty pork.

Fatty meat contains extremely high levels of animal fat, up to 90.8%. Eating too much can lead to fat accumulation, obesity, elevated blood lipids, and even arteriosclerosis. Therefore, people with long-term high blood pressure should avoid eating fatty pork.

4. **High Cholesterol Foods**: Such as pig liver and pig kidney.

Pig liver has a relatively high cholesterol content. According to analysis, every 100 grams of pig liver contains about 368 milligrams of cholesterol. Regularly eating large amounts of pig liver is detrimental to those with hypertension and high blood lipids. It’s advisable to limit or avoid its consumption.

5. **Excessive Alcohol Consumption**: Such as white liquor (baijiu).

White liquor is often referred to as "pure yang poison" and has properties similar to fire. Excessive drinking can be fatal in a short time. Modern scholars believe that the alcohol in white liquor affects the synthesis of endogenous cholesterol in the liver, increasing plasma cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations, leading to arteriosclerosis. It can also cause fat deposition in the myocardium, enlarging the heart and causing hypertension and coronary heart disease. Therefore, people with hypertension should avoid excessive consumption of strong liquor.

6. **Excessive Salt Intake**:

Salt is cold in nature and salty in taste. Many medical experts both domestically and internationally point out that consuming too much salt is an important cause of hypertension. A 1979 epidemiological survey in China also showed that the amount of salt consumed is directly related to blood pressure. Therefore, people with hypertension should avoid eating too much salt.

7. **Avoid Overeating**:

The nutrients the body needs come from food. Therefore, maintaining good eating habits is necessary. However, long-term overeating is not a good habit and is harmful to health.

Modern medicine believes that regular overeating increases the burden on the gastrointestinal tract, reduces the supply of digestive fluids, and can even cause indigestion. Eating too much at each meal causes more blood to concentrate in the gastrointestinal area, reducing blood supply to vital organs like the heart and brain. This can lead to fatigue, reduced work efficiency, and even trigger angina attacks in patients with coronary heart disease.

Additionally, people with elevated blood pressure should avoid eating various egg yolks, animal brains, livers, kidneys, fatty meats, lard, shrimp, and other high-fat, high-cholesterol foods. They should also avoid white liquor, pickled vegetables, cigarettes, chili peppers, Sichuan lovage rhizome, etc.
