Raynaud's Syndrome, also known as digital artery spasm disease, is a condition caused by dysfunction of the sympathetic nerves that control the peripheral blood vessels, resulting in spasms of the small arteries of the extremities. It is a syndrome characterized by a series of skin color changes in the hands or feet due to spasm of the distal small arteries. This condition was first described in 1862.
