Venous thrombosis is an acute non-purulent inflammation of the veins, accompanied by secondary thrombosis within the vessel lumen. The condition primarily affects superficial veins of the limbs or deep veins of the lower extremities. Its clinical characteristics include localized swelling and pain in the affected limb, palpable subcutaneous cords with tenderness, or signs of venous obstruction such as varicose veins distal to the lesion. Occasionally, it can cause pulmonary embolism due to dislodged clots.
