Chaoyang City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the only integrated hospital in Chaoyang City that combines medical treatment, teaching, and research with a distinctive TCM feature. Located on the west side of the Balibao roundabout in Chaoyang City, the hospital was established in 1988. Despite its short history, it has developed rapidly, boasting complete professional facilities and excellent medical services. The Chaoyang City Hospital of TCM was founded in 1986 and is located in the western suburbs of Chaoyang, a historical and cultural city in western Liaoning Province. It covers an area of 26.2 mu (about 4.3 acres), with a building area of 7,529 square meters. It is a comprehensive TCM hospital mainly focused on TCM treatment, supplemented by integration of Chinese and Western medicine. The hospital boasts strong technical strength, complete departmental equipment, renowned doctors, and excellent medical skills, serving as a base for TCM medical treatment, scientific research, health care, teaching, and pharmaceutical preparation in Chaoyang City.
The hospital has 200 beds, and its fixed assets have increased from 2 million yuan at the time of establishment to 4.7 million yuan now. There are currently 149 health technicians, including 14 senior-level personnel and 54 mid-level technicians. The hospital has more than 20 departments, including internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, and otorhinolaryngology (ENT). Key specialties include cerebral thrombosis, stones, bone injuries, proctology, emergency, digestion, diabetes, and rheumatic diseases. Major equipment includes a 500mA X-ray machine, ultrasound, brain topography instrument, endoscope, and pharmaceutical preparation and decoction devices. The hospital primarily uses TCM treatment, supplemented by integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatments for various diseases and difficult critical illnesses. It also employs unique specialized treatment methods, achieving significant therapeutic effects and receiving widespread approval from patients inside and outside the city. The hospital has established a high-level, high-quality pharmaceutical preparation room with over 30 varieties of pills, powders, decoctions, and capsule preparations. Relying on strong teaching staff, rich teaching experience, and complete teaching equipment, the hospital has run TCM self-study examination tutoring associate classes for over ten years, delivering more than 600 graduates in 15 batches to society. These graduates are spread throughout Inner Mongolia and Northeast China, strengthening the grassroots medical backbone forces of TCM.
