The mandibular angle is located on the lower outer side of the face, composed of the connection between the ramus and the body of the mandible. Laterally, it features the masseteric tuberosity where the masseter muscle attaches. Medially, it has the pterygoid tuberosity for the attachment of the pterygoid muscle. The mandibular angles on both left and right sides, along with the zygomatic regions, form the basic outline of the face. Together with nasal and labial structures in the midface, they constitute the fundamental characteristics of facial morphology, making the mandibular angle one of the important anatomical landmarks for facial appearance.
