The整形 method for mandibular angle masseter hypertrophy
Mandibular angle masseter hypertrophy is also known as square mandible deformity. This kind of deformity usually manifests after the puberty development phase; therefore, it does not lead to occlusion or masticatory function disorders. However, due to its specific facial appearance, it affects aesthetics. In recent years, there has been an increasing number of people seeking cosmetic surgery for this condition, with young women being the majority among those seeking medical help. This article reports on a group of 15 cases that have been surgically corrected by us in recent years. We analyze and discuss the clinical characteristics of the deformity, the design of the surgical plan, the key points of surgical operation, and postoperative precautions.
