Cordyceps is not a cure-all; it is merely an ordinary Chinese herbal medicine. For instance, in the treatment of chronic cough and dyspnea caused by both lung and kidney deficiency, it can be used as an adjuvant drug, but it can only be used when the patient has little or no phlegm. Cordyceps has a tonic effect on people who are excessively weak physically, while for individuals with normal physical constitution, taking it will not have much effect. Although Cordyceps sinensis does indeed have health-care and therapeutic effects, it cannot possibly be a cure-all.
