In traditional Chinese medicine, gastric cancer belongs to "Yi Ge" (obstructed swallow), "Fan Wei" (reversed stomach), "Zheng Jia" (symptom and sign), "Ji Ju" (aggregation), and "stomach-ache", which is the top cause of death of malignant digestive tract tumors. In recent years, the incidence of gastric cancer in China has increased year by year, while the age of onset has significantly decreased. From the perspective of Western medicine, the causes of gastric cancer are closely related to genetic factors, gastric diseases, environmental factors, and dietary factors. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the occurrence of gastric cancer is caused by irregular diet, deficiency of vital energy, emotional disorders, and invasion of toxins. From the perspective of etiology and pathogenesis, gastric cancer should belong to the category of fundamental deficiency and marked excess. In clinical practice, if there are symptoms such as upper abdominal fullness, stomach pain, acid reflux, belching, unexplained weight loss, poor appetite, upper abdominal fullness, and pain, timely examination and diagnosis are required.
