"The focus of gastric cancer treatment should be the continuous emphasis on the standardization of radical surgery and the rationality of related adjuvant therapy." Professor Chen Lin from the General Surgery Department of PLA General Hospital called for attention from experts in the "2008 Gastrointestinal Oncology Surgery Comprehensive Diagnosis and Treatment Summit Forum" held on April 26th. Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors, with an incidence rate ranking second only to lung cancer worldwide. In China, the annual mortality rate of gastric cancer ranks first among all malignant tumors.
