Chaoyang Moving Company reminds you: Winter moving注意事项: Don't rush to move after winter renovation is completed.

After a long and arduous renovation is finally completed, don't rush to move into the new house. First, carefully inspect the work to avoid future disputes and problems. There are also many things to pay attention to in winter:

1. Planting green plants: Due to less ventilation in winter compared to other seasons, there will be some harmful gases left indoors that are harmful to human health. For newly renovated houses, consumers should not rush to move in but extend the moving-in time appropriately. It is recommended to grow green plants to let flowers, grasses, and water absorb some harmful gases.

2. Placing clear water: After renovation, a basin of clear water can be placed in each room to increase indoor humidity and prevent walls, ceilings, and furniture from drying too fast and cracking.

3. Air testing: After completion, timely air testing should be done. During the heating season, the air is dry, the temperature is high, and indoor ventilation is poor, causing large amounts of formaldehyde, benzene, and other harmful substances in plywood, wooden floors, and other decoration materials to evaporate, easily leading to excessive concentrations of harmful substances. A qualified indoor air testing department should be hired to conduct an air test. If it is不合格, immediately consult experts to find the source of harmful substances and ask workers to redo the work to prevent hidden dangers.

4. Inspection focus: When inspecting, focus on checking whether the seam leaving, paper sticking, cloth sticking work meets requirements, whether there are any cracks, and reach a consensus with the decoration company on post-sale warranty details. For wall tile installation, use a small metal hammer to lightly tap the four corners and middle of the wall and floor tiles. There should be no hollow sound, and the seams between the tiles should be flat and tight, with the entire surface being level. Check if there are obvious gaps or unevenness in the floor, and if the joint between the floor and the baseboard is tightly combined. You can slowly walk through each room. Since appropriate gaps should be left when laying wooden floors in winter, reasonable gaps are acceptable.

5. Window ventilation timing: Although opening windows for ventilation helps dissipate harmful substances like formaldehyde and dries paint, the low outdoor temperature in winter can cause latex paint to deteriorate, reducing adhesion or even powdering. Latex-painted walls that haven't dried thoroughly after renovation may freeze and change color in the spring. Ventilation is necessary, but latex paint will deteriorate below 5°C, so it's best to ventilate during warm afternoons, and each ventilation session shouldn't be too long to prevent the walls near the window sills from freezing and changing color.

6. Avoid carrying over unsettled accounts to the next year: Winter involves the Spring Festival holiday, and many decoration companies suggest settling project payments before the end of the year to avoid "carry-over accounts." At this time, give full understanding first, but as the end of the year is a busy season for all industries, please make sure to take the time to carefully check and calculate the decoration accounts.
