What is Mensa?

Mensa is the name of the world's top IQ club, founded in 1946 in Oxford, UK, by lawyer Roland Berrill and scientist Dr. Lance Ware. They aimed to create a society for intelligent individuals, where challenging activities would acknowledge, affirm, and continuously enhance the high IQ of its members, while allowing them to share their successes.

The Influence of Mensa

More than half a century of development has made Mensa the best, largest, and most successful IQ club in the world. As a super club, it boasts over 100,000 members spread across 100 countries worldwide. Every continent except Antarctica has more than 40 countries with its branches.

Besides having a high IQ, there are no other defining characteristics among Mensa members. The only way to join Mensa is by taking an exam and standing out—among every hundred people who pass the Mensa test, the two most outstanding individuals will be admitted as official members.

Mensa Intelligence Tests

In addition to providing its members with a stimulating platform for intellectual exchange, Mensa also publishes collections of the most challenging intelligence problems contributed by its members, allowing non-members to share in these challenges as well. Leveraging Mensa's standing in the field of IQ testing, the "Mensa Series Books" not only sell well in Europe and America but are also used by many government agencies and multinational corporations around the world as important references for talent selection.
