April 22nd every year is "World Earth Day" (World Earth Day).
The World Earth Day event originated in the United States. In 1969, U.S. Democratic Senator Gaylord Nelson proposed holding environmental issue seminars on college campuses across the country. Dennis Hayes, a 25-year-old Harvard Law School student at the time, quickly turned Nelson's proposal into a concrete plan for large-scale community activities across the United States, and received a positive response from many young students. On April 22, 1970, the United States held a grand "Earth Day" event, with hundreds of thousands of people participating in rallies, calling for the creation of a clean, simple, and peaceful living environment.
