The autobiographical long-form documentary novel *The Old Man of Nuclear Weapons Spills His Guts: A Personal Account* recounts real events that took place at China’s nuclear weapons research base.
This work centers on the love story of the protagonists Wei and Lin. Through narrating the lives, loves, and fates of nearly a hundred minor characters in the nuclear base, it passionately celebrates the dedication, patriotism, and willingness to sacrifice of China’s first generation of nuclear weapon researchers. It reflects brilliant humanistic brilliance and vividly portrays a segment of history from the nuclear base — a period of arduous struggle, breathtaking intensity, yet little known to the public. Since its first publication on Tianya, it has been loved by readers. More than forty websites and forums both domestically and internationally have reprinted and enthusiastically reviewed it. Several publishing houses and film/television companies have come forward to discuss cooperation. Netizens have responded strongly, eagerly awaiting its publication. Currently, the author has already received thousands of pre-orders from netizens.
This work is being serialized verbatim in *Times Report*, a large-scale reportage literature journal in Henan Province, starting from February, under the new title *Forbidden Youth - My Life at the Nuclear Base*. Currently, the author is working on the sequel — recounting the stories from Sichuan's 902 site, with some chapters already being serialized in this thread starting from page 100.
