Details of New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's solicitation of prostitutes were exposed on the 10th, and many American media outlets vied to report on it. Court documents revealed that Spitzer booked a room at a five-star hotel in Washington, not far from the White House, hiring a prostitute for $1,000 per hour, and this might not have been his first sexual transaction. According to testimony from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, last month Spitzer called an escort service known as the "Emperor's Club," booking one prostitute for the evening of February 13th, Valentine's Day eve, at either 9 or 10 PM.
