Never dig your ears unless it's necessary!

I tried to get the cotton out with an ear pick but failed. After more than half an hour of trying, not only did I fail to get it out, but I also pushed it deeper and caused my ear to become inflamed.

This morning, I woke up and found that my hearing had dropped severely, at least by more than half, and there was always a buzzing sound. It felt like half of my head was empty. So I immediately went to the hospital, which was already crowded with people at around 8:30 in the morning. I found the ENT department, sat down, and told the doctor about the situation. I said, "Doctor, last night when I was digging my ear, the cotton from the cotton swab fell off and got stuck inside." The doctor said, "We can take it out with tools." Then he examined me with the tool and confirmed that the cotton was indeed still inside. The doctor then clicked on the computer and showed me, "Ear canal foreign body removal per time: 141 yuan." The doctor then asked, "141 yuan, do you want us to take it out?" Of course, I said yes. I thought to myself, "How could I leave it in there?"

The doctor then said, "Then go pay outside."

So I went to pay, 151 yuan in total, including 6.6 yuan for the outpatient fee, and another 4 yuan I don't know what it was for. Anyway, as long as I can get the thing out, it's fine.

After paying, I took the receipt back to the doctor. The doctor sprayed something with a spray gun a few times and let me sit for a while. It might have been hydrogen peroxide, and it made the cotton absorb the liquid, shrink a lot, and thus easier to remove. After a minute, I went back to the doctor, who used a small pair of tweezers. I didn't see clearly what they looked like, but within two or three moves, the cotton was out. The doctor was indeed skilled. The process of removing it felt so comfortable, like a huge piece of earwax was being taken out. After it was removed, my hearing returned to normal. Thank you, doctor.

The doctor checked again and said my ear was a bit swollen and inflamed, and prescribed some medicine, asking if I wanted it. I asked, "How much does it cost?" The doctor directly asked, "How much money do you have?" This sentence really scared me, so I didn't tell him the truth and gave a random answer. The doctor said, "Alright."

In general, nowadays, as long as you're sick and go to the hospital, the first thing is to make sure you have enough money to pay for treatment.

Finally, I advise everyone not to randomly dig your ears in the future. If you must dig them, use high-quality cotton swabs.

After this experience, I won't dare to dig my ears recklessly anymore. It's really tormenting. Although going to the hospital can solve the problem, it actually causes a lot of damage to your body.
