Male prostitutes, as the name implies, are male prostitutes, known in ancient times as "rabbits" or "little singers," which means "young prostitutes." Some also called them "little hands." Later, they were referred to as "Xianggu," meaning resembling a young lady. Later, due to its homophonic sound, it became "Xianggong," and they referred to themselves as "people of the Tangming." Their dwelling places were called "Xianggong Tangzi" or "Xia Chu."
