A 29-year-old man from Huai'an, Li Lin (a pseudonym), originally had a relatively stable job. His father had worked hard to accumulate several million yuan worth of assets for him and spent 280,000 yuan in around 2003 to buy him a car. Moreover, his father entrusted all his business funds to him for management. However, after having access to money, the pleasure-seeking Li Lin not only quit his job but also indulged in extravagant lifestyles by frequenting nightclubs and luxury hotels, keeping mistresses. Within less than two years, he squandered all the family's wealth.
In order to sustain his high consumption lifestyle, he borrowed money from various sources. Before the Spring Festival in 2007, he defrauded 113,000 yuan from one of his classmates and then vanished without a trace. On April 22nd this year, Li Lin was apprehended by the Huaiyin police in Zhejiang province.
Yesterday morning, the police executed the arrest of Li Lin on suspicion of fraud. When questioned about his extravagant spending habits, his response left the officers sighing with regret: "When I had money, I spent six days a week in nightclubs and used the remaining day to relax at a sauna."
