Extraction involves re-injecting water into the breast to dilute the original injected material, which is then directly extracted with a syringe. This is a method we do not recommend, mainly for the following reasons:
1. Extraction generally does not clean everything out. Even with dilution and water injection, it is impossible to completely remove all of the material.
2. After the injected material enters the body, due to the lack of a capsule, the material may fuse with human tissue, making it unable to be extracted.
3. During injection-based breast augmentation, there may be some intervals within the injected area. Using the extraction method might remove the material from one interval while leaving others untouched, potentially resulting in even more difficult removal and increasing the complexity of a second surgery.
4. Improper extraction can also cause infection and lead to other complications.
