According to the Chosun Daily, on July 13th, regarding the upcoming vote on the comfort women resolution by the US House of Representatives this month, more than 200 Japanese conservative intellectuals including 13 members of parliament, scholars, and media figures gathered in front of the US Embassy in Japan to hold a protest demonstration. They claimed that the resolution passed by the US House Foreign Affairs Committee lacked a factual basis and did not conform to historical facts, being entirely erroneous.
These individuals made outrageous statements without any restraint, referring to the Japanese military's "sex slaves" (comfort women) as "prostitutes," and argued that the US dropping of the atomic bomb on Japan was the real human rights issue causing mass slaughter.
