Enlarged Pores and How to Minimize Them
I. Enlarged pores can be categorized into two aspects based on their causes:
1: Caused by oily skin
Oily skin and the T-zone of combination skin produce an especially abundant amount of sebum. Excess sebum accumulates in the hair follicles, causing the pores to expand. With age, the pores appear increasingly larger.
2: Caused by improper cleansing
The basal layer of the epidermis continuously produces new cells which are transported to the upper layers. As these cells age, they form the outer layer of aged keratin. Long-term incorrect cleansing habits disrupt the normal metabolic process, preventing the timely shedding of dead skin cells, leading to enlarged pores.
