In the year 2009, China produced 67.65 million LCD TVs, 59.31 million refrigerators, 2.23 trillion cigarettes, 61.92 million mobile phones, 13.21 million tons of sugar, and 13.8 million motor vehicles;
China annually exports $28 billion worth of shoes, $39.6 billion worth of toys, and $107.1 billion worth of clothing;
More than 300 million people in China are farmers. 26% of the world's rice comes from China, which is approximately 193 million tons. About 300 million turtles are consumed as food each year;
The Chinese People's Liberation Army is the largest active military force in the world, with approximately 3.4 million active-duty personnel and 1.2 million reservists. China's defense budget is roughly $80 billion.
China executes more people each year than all other countries combined. In 2009, approximately 5,000 people were executed (accurate figures are difficult to obtain for well-known reasons). Chinese media reports that one out of every ten executions is for non-violent economic crimes. In 2008, 72% of the world's executions took place in China."
