Inference questions are an important part of the IBT Reading section. According to the OG, in the 3 articles of the IBT Reading, each article may have 0-2 such questions, with a total of 3-4 questions per test. Inference questions involve information that is included in the passage but not directly stated, requiring test-takers to deduce from what is already known. Common words found in the stems of inference questions include "infer," "imply," "most likely" (or "least likely"), and "probably."
